GENERAL INFORMATION / These informations are no longer valid as the masterclass will be held online.

The Peter Eötvös Contemporary Music Foundation announces a workshop for conductors and composers focusing on chamber music between 18-26 November 2020, in Budapest (Hungary). Selected active conductors will have the possibility to work on George Benjamin’s Three Inventions and Divertimento by Béla Bartók.

Olga Neuwirth is internationally renowned for the versatility of her musical statement that pushes boundaries to explore the possibilities of renewal and chart the unknown. Her exciting and relevant output over the past 30 years has made her one of the most celebrated personalities in the contemporary art world. Her genre-crossing works, which cannot be associated with any one school, are free and uninhibited.

As this workshop is part of the foundation’s Mentoring Program there will be new chamber pieces written for the workshop by 2 mentored composers of the foundation. The workshop offers working sessions with Peter Eötvös, George Benjamin, Gregory Vajda and the two mentored composers: Leonardo Marino and Hankyeol Yoon.

The call is open for conductors and composers of all nationalities.
